File sharing

Last updated

Every file shared in a Chatwork room -- whether dropped directly into the chat or attached to a message -- automatically appears in that room's dedicated File tab, giving a chronological, searchable list of every attachment shared in that conversation without digging back through chat history. Filtering in the File tab is by uploader and date rather than by folder structure, since Chatwork doesn't organize files into a separate folder hierarchy outside of the room they were shared in.

Chatwork does not provide real document version control: re-uploading an updated file creates a new, separate entry in the File tab rather than a tracked new version of the original, so teams that need true version history should treat Chatwork as a sharing and discussion layer and keep the source-of-truth document in a dedicated file-storage or docs tool.

  • Files shared in chat are automatically listed in the room's File tab -- no separate upload step required
  • Filtering is by uploader and upload date, not by a folder/directory structure
  • There's no built-in version linking -- a re-uploaded file is a new, separate entry, not a new version of the old one
