Implementation of Clover POS: setup that actually holds up on the floor
Implementation covers device setup and network configuration (Clover devices need a stable connection for card processing and cloud sync, with defined offline fallback behavior), item catalog and modifier setup, tax rules per category, and employee roles and PIN or login setup, all before the first live transaction.
We configure the payment processing relationship, whether direct through Fiserv or through your reseller, set up the specific App Market apps you're actually using, such as loyalty, online ordering, or accounting sync, and test the integration points between them, since apps from different vendors don't always work well together on the same account.
For restaurants, implementation includes menu setup with modifiers and combos, kitchen printer or KDS routing if applicable, and tip and gratuity configuration. For retail, it's more about barcode and SKU setup, variant handling for size or color, and inventory count import from whatever system you're migrating off of.
We test the specific failure modes that matter on a live floor: what happens during an internet outage, since Clover's offline mode has transaction limits, what happens when a card is declined, and how void and refund permissions are locked down by employee role, before we call the setup done.
What's produced
- A configured device fleet, Station, Mini, Flex, or Go per your layout, with tested offline fallback behavior
- Item catalog, modifiers, and tax rules matching your actual menu or product list
- Employee roles, PINs, and void or refund permissions set per person
- The specific App Market apps you're using, installed, configured, and tested together
- A tested payment flow covering normal transactions, declines, and refunds
- A short runbook for what to do when connectivity drops mid-shift
We stay through your first few live days to catch the setup issues that only show up under real transaction volume, not just in testing.
Use cases
Use cases
