Delete a Course

Last updated

What this operation supports in LearnDash

Deletes a course by its ID.

Implementation details

Depending on how the course and its content were structured, deleting it may or may not automatically remove the lessons, topics, and quizzes nested underneath it -- content created independently and merely linked to the course can sometimes remain behind.

Operational considerations

Before deleting a course via automation, it's worth confirming whether orphaned lessons or quizzes need separate cleanup, rather than assuming the whole content tree is removed in one step.

Use cases

Common deletion workflows.

  1. Retiring a course while preserving learner progress in LearnDash.
  2. Removing a course from catalogs after external sunset events in LearnDash.
  3. Soft-delete with a final export to reporting systems via LearnDash events.
  4. Reassign learners to alternative courses in LearnDash automatically.
