Resource Allocation

Last updated

Allocating people to work in Float happens directly on the drag-and-drop schedule: dragging a bar to assign, resize, or move a task updates that person's total workload immediately, with the capacity view flagging over-allocation in real time.

  • Each person's available hours account for their working schedule, part-time status, and any logged time off, so the capacity shown already nets those out rather than assuming a flat 40-hour week for everyone
  • Bulk actions let you reassign multiple tasks from one person to another at once, useful when someone goes on leave or leaves a project mid-stream
  • Tags for skill, role, department, or seniority can be applied to people, so when reassigning work you can filter to find who else has the right skill set and available capacity
  • Notifications alert assigned people, and optionally their manager, when new work is added to their schedule or an existing assignment changes
