Time Tracking

Last updated

Float's time tracking, called Log Time, is built on top of the scheduling data rather than a separate stopwatch tool: timesheets are pre-filled from each person's scheduled assignments, so logging a day's work usually means confirming or adjusting hours rather than entering them from scratch.

  • Logged time can be compared against both the original estimate and the scheduled allocation, giving an estimated-vs-scheduled-vs-actual view per task or project
  • Time entries roll up into project-level reports for tracking whether work is on budget as it progresses, not just after the fact
  • Estimates-versus-actuals reporting is a Pro-plan feature and isn't included on the Starter plan
  • Time data feeds the same reports used for capacity planning, so logged hours affect that person's future availability projections, not just historical billing
