What this operation supports in Google Calendar
Updates fields on an existing event by its ID, such as its time, attendees, or description.
Implementation details
Using the patch-style update only changes the fields included in the request, leaving everything else on the event as it was -- a full update instead requires resending the entire event object.
Operational considerations
Changing an event's time sends an update notification to its attendees by default, so bulk or routine updates should account for that unless notifications are explicitly suppressed. Updating a single instance of a recurring event detaches just that occurrence from the series, while updating the master event changes the pattern for all future occurrences.
