Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of consultantsinabox.com, the free business analysis and any proposal we generate for you. By using them you agree to these terms. Questions: info@consultantsinabox.com.

The free analysis

The analysis is free. It is generated automatically from the information you give us, public information about your website and, if you choose to connect them, your Google account data. It is an estimate to help you decide, not professional advice, and not a guarantee of any result, ranking, traffic, revenue or savings. We provide one analysis per website domain.

Proposals and pricing

A proposal shows a one-time price and a monthly price built from your answers. It is valid for 30 days from the date shown. We confirm scope on a call, and the price changes only if the scope does. A proposal is not a contract. Work starts when you accept the scope and pay the deposit, and monthly services run month to month until you cancel. Third-party software licences, advertising spend and domain fees are billed by those providers and are not included unless stated.

Your information and Google connections

You confirm that the information you give us is accurate and that you are authorized to give it for the business and website you name. If you connect a Google account, you confirm you are allowed to grant that access, and you can remove it at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Connected systems and bank data

Connecting a system is optional and happens only after you accept these terms. Housecall Pro: if you paste a Housecall Pro API key we use it once to read recent jobs, estimates, customers and team members, keep only totals and findings, and discard the key; you must be authorized to share that account's data, and we are not affiliated with Housecall Pro. Google: when you choose "Continue with Google" or "Connect with Google" we ask for read-only access to the Google services you select (for example Analytics and Search Console) and use that data only to build and improve your own analysis and proposal; you can remove access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Bank accounts: when you choose "Connect bank accounts" you link accounts through Stripe Financial Connections, which handles the sign-in to your bank; we never see your bank login. You authorize us to read balances and up to the last 180 days of transactions once, at the time you connect (we do not watch the account afterwards), and to have our AI analyze those transactions: it sorts them by vendor and category and works out monthly money in and out, where your spend goes, which costs our services could take over, and a monthly price based on those numbers. After that analysis we keep only the summary (monthly totals, categories, vendor names and averages) and discard the transaction list; no person at Consultants in a Box reads the individual transactions. The summary is a good-faith estimate from bank descriptions, not accounting or tax advice. Valuation: any business value range we show is an indicative estimate built from public sold-business data and the numbers you give us; it is not an appraisal, a fairness opinion, or an offer to buy, and real prices depend on facts we cannot see. You can disconnect at any time from Stripe's Link settings or by emailing us, and we will delete the summary we hold.

By connecting a system you confirm you are authorized to grant access to it for the business named in your request.

Business listings

Sellers may list a business at /sell, and buyers may browse and request details. Each seller chooses which details are public and which are released only after a buyer verifies their email and signs a confidentiality agreement (NDA); the NDA is between that buyer and that seller, and we keep a record of who signed which version and when. We review a listing before it goes live, but we do not verify what sellers say, we are not a business broker, agent or advisor, and we are not a party to any sale, so each side must check the other and take its own legal and financial advice. Sellers confirm they are authorized to sell the business and that their listing is accurate and does not infringe anyone's rights. We may decline, pause or remove a listing, or block a user, at any time. Listing is free for now and we will tell you before that changes. The standard NDA text is a template, not legal advice.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service: no automated scraping, no attempts to break or overload it, no submitting a website you have no right to analyze, and no unlawful use.

Our content

The site, the analysis format, the videos and the proposals are ours. You may use your own analysis and proposal for your business, and may not republish or resell them.

No warranties and limits on liability

The free analysis and the website are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the free analysis, and our total liability for it is limited to the amount you paid us for it, which is zero. Paid work is covered by the written agreement for that work.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
