Implementation details
Because segment membership in Klaviyo is dynamic and rule-based, this reflects a point-in-time snapshot -- profiles can move in or out of the segment automatically as their data changes, without any explicit membership action. Like other profile-listing calls, results are paginated with a cursor, so a segment with a large membership requires following that cursor through multiple requests rather than retrieving everyone in one call.
Operational considerations
Syncing segment membership on a schedule (rather than treating it as static once fetched) keeps an external system aligned with Klaviyo's continuously evaluated segment rules.
