Agentforce for Sales: what the sales agents do

Short answer

Agentforce for Sales puts AI agents to work on pipeline jobs in Sales Cloud. The SDR agent qualifies inbound leads, answers their questions from your own content and books meetings with your reps; Sales Coach runs deal-specific role-plays and gives feedback; and other agents keep opportunity fields current and build quotes from plain-language requests.

What does the Agentforce SDR agent do?

It works inbound leads 24/7 within the guardrails you set: reaching out, answering questions, handling objections and handing interested leads to a rep with a booked meeting.

  • Answers lead questions grounded in your CRM and company content such as product FAQs, case studies and sales plays.
  • Offers real-time calendar availability so a lead can book time with your sales team.
  • You decide which leads it gets and when and how it may reach out.

What does Agentforce Sales Coach do?

It gives each seller an on-demand coach: role-plays tailored to the deal and deal stage, pitch practice with recorded feedback, and the same standards applied to every rep.

Can Agentforce keep opportunities up to date?

Yes. Salesforce says agents can turn calls, meetings, emails and notes into structured updates to fields like Stage and Next Steps, either automatically or as suggestions a rep approves.

Each update shows where the data came from, which matters if managers rely on the pipeline for forecasting.

Can Agentforce build quotes?

Salesforce describes reps asking Agentforce, inside Salesforce or Slack, to create, update and summarize quotes in natural language, with the agent acting under the same permissions as the rep.

Products, pricing and discounts come from your product catalog and business rules, so quote quality depends on that catalog being accurate.

Which sales agent should a small team start with?

Start where the work is most repetitive and the data is cleanest. For many small teams that is inbound lead follow-up; for others it is keeping opportunity fields filled in.

Frequently asked questions

Is Agentforce SDR the same as Einstein SDR Agent?

Yes. Salesforce announced Einstein SDR Agent and Einstein Sales Coach Agent, and later renamed them Agentforce SDR and Agentforce Sales Coach.

Do we need Sales Cloud?

These agents are part of Sales Cloud and work on your Salesforce leads, opportunities and quotes. Check with Salesforce which edition and add-ons your org needs for each agent.

Can the SDR agent email leads on its own?

It can, within the guardrails you set for when and how it reaches out. Many teams start with a narrow lead segment and review results before widening it.
