Agentforce pricing

Agentforce pricing explained: the models, the units and what drives cost

Short answer

Salesforce prices Agentforce in a few ways: Flex Credits, which are consumed per action an agent takes; Conversations, a flat price per customer conversation; per-user add-ons and editions with unmetered employee use; and per-user licenses that draw on Flex Credits. Your cost comes from how many actions or conversations your agents handle. Salesforce publishes current prices on its official Agentforce pricing page.

What are the Agentforce pricing models?

There are two usage models (Flex Credits and Conversations) plus per-user options. Salesforce says Flex Credits and Conversations cannot be used in the same org.

ModelWhat you pay forBest suited to (per Salesforce)
Flex CreditsCredits consumed per agent action; credits also cover prompts, translations and voice actionsAny Agentforce use case, customer-facing or employee-facing, including Agentforce Voice
ConversationsA flat price per conversation, regardless of how complex it isExternal, customer-facing agents
Agentforce add-onsPer user per month, with unmetered Agentforce use for employeesSales, Service, and Field Service teams; separate add-ons exist for Industries Clouds
Max Edition (Agentforce 1 Editions)Per user per month; includes the Agentforce add-on and an annual Flex Credit allotmentCompanies standardizing on Sales, Service or Industries editions

Prices change and vary by currency and contract. Check the figures on Salesforce's Agentforce pricing page and confirm with a Salesforce account executive.

How do Flex Credits work?

Each action an agent performs consumes a set number of Flex Credits. Salesforce's help article states that one Agentforce action consumes 20 Flex Credits, and credits are sold in packs.

  • An action is a unit of work such as answering a question from knowledge, updating a customer record or running a custom troubleshooting step.
  • Agentforce Voice actions use different usage types and multipliers, set out in the Agentforce Rate Card.
  • Unused Flex Credits do not roll over into the next subscription term.
  • Salesforce says there is no overage penalty: usage above your entitlement is billed monthly in arrears at your contracted rate, and Digital Wallet alerts help you avoid it.

How do you estimate what Agentforce will cost?

Count the actions a task takes, multiply by how often the task happens, and convert that to credits. Then add anything metered separately, such as Data 360 usage.

  1. Pick one use case, for example answering order-status questions.
  2. Count the actions per task. Salesforce's own examples range from one action (a single knowledge answer) to several (look up, update, confirm).
  3. Estimate monthly volume: tasks per day times working days, times the number of users or customers involved.
  4. Multiply actions per task by credits per action and by monthly volume to get monthly credits.
  5. Check the Flex Credit pricing calculator and the rate card for the current per-credit price and any multipliers.
  6. Add other consumption costs. Salesforce notes its examples exclude Data 360 credits and other consumption services.

What drives Agentforce cost up or down?

Volume and the number of steps per task matter most. A tightly scoped agent that resolves a request in one or two actions costs far less to run than one that loops through many lookups.

  • Actions per task. Fewer, better-designed actions mean fewer credits.
  • Volume. Customer-facing agents scale with your inbound conversations.
  • Voice. Voice actions carry their own multipliers.
  • Testing. Salesforce notes that running tests in Testing Center also consumes requests and credits.
  • Data. Grounding on Data 360 can add Data 360 consumption.
  • Model choice. Picking Conversations versus Flex Credits changes what is metered.

Which buying models are available?

Salesforce lists Pre-Purchase, Pre-Commit and PayGo. Flex Credits can be bought on PayGo and Pre-Commit; Salesforce says conversation pricing, Agentforce add-ons and Agentforce 1 Editions are not available on those two models.

How do you keep track of usage?

Digital Wallet shows Flex Credit consumption in near real time, with threshold alerts and usage trends. Salesforce says it is provided free to customers with Digital Wallet enabled products.

Frequently asked questions

Can we switch from Conversations to Flex Credits?

Salesforce says yes, but you swap all existing Agentforce Conversation SKUs, because the two models are not supported in the same org.
