Agentforce Testing Center

Agentforce Testing Center: how to test an AI agent before launch

Short answer

Agentforce Testing Center is Salesforce's tool for testing AI agents at scale before they go live. It generates test cases from an agent's subagents and actions, creates question-and-answer tests from your knowledge, or runs scenarios you upload, then scores the results on accuracy, quality and whether the right subagent and action were used. Salesforce advises running it only in a sandbox.

Why do AI agents need batch testing?

Because agents are non-deterministic: the same question can produce different paths. Salesforce says testing across a wide range of scenarios is essential for consistent, accurate performance.

What does Testing Center measure?

Response accuracy, subagent and action validation, and quality metrics.

A Salesforce release note adds detailed scores from 0 to 5 for response accuracy and quality.

EvaluationWhat it tells you
Response accuracyWhether the answer was right
Subagent recognitionWhether the agent picked the right job for the request
Action executionWhether it ran the right action
Knowledge retrievalWhether it found the right content
Completeness, coherence, concisenessWhether the answer is usable
LatencyHow long the agent took
Instruction adherenceWhether it followed your instructions

How do you set up tests?

Generate tests automatically from subagents and actions, build Q&A tests from knowledge, or upload your own scenarios. Salesforce offers Testing Center in Agentforce Studio (beta) and in Setup (legacy).

  1. Copy the agent into a sandbox; tests can change CRM data.
  2. Generate scenarios for each subagent, then add real customer questions you have collected.
  3. Run the batch and review low scores by subagent and action.
  4. Refine instructions and actions, then re-run until results are stable.

Which Salesforce editions include Testing Center?

Salesforce lists Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited and Developer Editions, in Lightning Experience. Required add-on licenses vary by agent type.

Does testing cost anything?

Salesforce notes that running tests consumes requests and credits, so include testing in your usage estimate. See the pricing guide.
