Delete a Global Suppression

Last updated

Behavior inside SendGrid

Removes a specific email address from the global unsubscribe/suppression list, re-enabling future sends to that address account-wide.

Request behavior and expectations

This only reverses global suppression specifically -- if that address is also separately listed in bounce or spam-report suppression, those are tracked independently and aren't cleared by this same call.

Implementation details

Removing someone from suppression should generally reflect an explicit resubscribe or a confirmed correction, since sending to a previously-unsubscribed address without that context risks both compliance issues and a fresh spam complaint that lands the address right back on a suppression list.

Use cases

Recover a previously suppressed address after consent or error correction.

  1. Re-enable a previously blocked contact when allowed.
  2. Update analytics to reflect suppression changes.
  3. Maintain audit trails for governance reviews.
  4. Coordinate with marketing teams on re-engagement timing.
