Before you invite a client or a contractor into Slack, here is one billing detail worth knowing. On Slack's paid plans, single-channel guests are free. Up to five, for every paid member. Multi-channel guests are different. Slack bills them as regular paid users. So if an outside person needs more than one channel, that is a billed account. Before you give a guest more channels, check which guest type they have, and what it will cost. If the work is ongoing, consider Slack Connect. And review your guest list regularly, so you know who has access to what.
