AI product content and catalog operations
A large catalog means thousands of titles, descriptions and attributes to keep tidy. We use AI to draft and organize that work, keep the markup that search engines and AI assistants read current, and make site edits reviewable. A person approves the result.
In development. Some pieces run on The Porch Swing Store, such as structured data, FAQ markup and an llms.txt summary. AI-drafted product content and catalog workflows are not a finished product, and we do not publish results.
Why catalogs fall behind
Suppliers send thin or inconsistent product data. Titles do not match how shoppers search, descriptions repeat, and attributes such as color or size are missing, so filters and feeds suffer.
Editing the site is slow too. A small change to a headline or a page description becomes a request and a wait, so it does not happen.
What we are building
Drafted titles and descriptions
AI drafts product copy from the supplier data you already have, written in your style, for a person to review and approve.
Attribute clean-up
Finding missing or inconsistent colors, sizes and materials so filters and feeds work.
FAQ and structured data
Question-and-answer content and product markup kept in step with the page, for search engines and AI assistants.
An llms.txt summary
A plain-language summary of the store and its collections that AI assistants can read.
Safe site editing
Proposed edits to page text, images and search titles that an owner reviews and publishes, instead of changes made blindly.
A help assistant that stays in its lane
An after-hours chat assistant that answers from the store's own policy pages and takes a message for anything else.
How we keep it safe
- A person approves product copy before it is published
- Draft copy is checked against supplier facts, not invented
- Structured data matches what the page shows
- Edits are proposals until the owner publishes them
- Customer answers come only from your own policies
- Everything is logged so a change can be undone
AI can be wrong. Product facts such as size, material and compatibility must be checked by a person before they are published.
- Pick one slice of the catalogWe start with one collection so we can check quality before touching the rest.
- Draft and reviewAI drafts, your team reviews, and we adjust the style and rules.
- Publish and measureApproved content goes live, and we look at what changed in search and in the feed.
- Extend carefullyWe expand to more collections only once the first slice is working.
On The Porch Swing Store, the live product pages carry Product, Offer, Brand, FAQ and Breadcrumb data, and the store publishes an llms.txt summary. The store also has a build that proposes site edits for the owner to review before publishing, and an after-hours chat assistant that answers from its policy pages. We cannot claim these are finished products.
Questions about this playbook
Will AI write my product pages without me?
No. AI drafts, and a person approves. Product facts are checked against supplier data before anything is published.
Is this live?
Parts are, such as structured data and an llms.txt summary on The Porch Swing Store. AI-drafted content and catalog workflows are in development.
What is llms.txt?
A plain-text summary of a site that AI assistants can read. It helps describe the store, but no one controls whether an assistant uses it.
Can AI answer customer questions?
Only from your own policy pages, and anything else is passed to a person. We do not let it make up answers about orders or warranties.
